DESCRIÇÃO DO PROJETO:
O Projeto LOPES (LEO Optical Telescope for Space) tem como objetivo investigar e desenvolver uma solução avançada baseada em sensores óticos para a monitorização e rastreamento de objetos espaciais em órbita terrestre baixa. Este sistema foi concebido para incluir um amplo campo de visão e capacidades avançadas de recolha de dados, contribuindo para a melhoria da observação espacial e da segurança.

OBJETIVOS:

⦁ Development of advanced optical technologies for the precise monitoring and tracking of space objects in low Earth orbit.
⦁ Creation of innovative solutions with a wide field of view to enhance space situational awareness.
⦁ Implementation of data collection systems capable of providing accurate and reliable information for space operations.
⦁ Promotion of sustainable technological development in alignment with environmental and operational best practices.

RESULTADOS ESPERADOS:

⦁ Installation of an optical tracking station for low Earth orbit (LEO) space objects
⦁ Development of an integrated space monitoring infrastructure
⦁ Development of an innovative optical data acquisition and processing system
⦁ Creation of at least 2 new highly skilled jobs
